Meet Hunter Stapp – Dedicated Educator, Veteran, Pastor, and Community Influencer
Hunter Stapp is a lifelong resident of the Sango community and the proud son of two public school teachers. Growing up in a household that valued education and service, Hunter developed a deep appreciation for the role strong schools play in shaping vibrant communities.
After graduating from Clarksville High School, Hunter enlisted in the military and later earned multiple degrees from Austin Peay State University, including Philosophy, Psychology, Education, and Computer Science. His diverse academic background reflects a lifelong commitment to learning and critical thinking, skills he now brings into the classroom every day.
For over a decade, Hunter served as a pastor with a focus on children, youth, and family ministry. He also coached high school wrestling, further deepening his connection to students and families. Driven by a passion to make a direct impact in the lives of young learners, Hunter became a licensed teacher and has since taught elementary school for over ten years and currently serves as a 5th grade teacher at East Montgomery Elementary.
Beyond the classroom, Hunter is an active community leader and volunteer. He has organized and volunteered at camps, Vacation Bible Schools, church and nonprofit programs, and other family-centered events. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to building community led him to co-found several local businesses that serve as gathering places for families and neighbors, including Run-a-Muck Outfitters, The Thirsty Goat, The Dairy Dog, Kings Bluff Brewery, Deepwood Greens, and the Sango Night Market.
Hunter is running for District 7 of the Montgomery County School Board to be a voice for families, teachers, and students. He brings a unique blend of classroom experience, leadership, and community vision. With deep roots in the district and a proven track record of service, Hunter is ready to advocate for excellence in education, transparency in decision-making, and policies that support our students’, teachers’, and families’ success and community growth.
Hunter lives and works right here in the Sango community. He would love the chance to connect with you and hear what you have to say.
